About Henley Business School

Henley, founded in 1945, was the first business school to be established in the UK and is one of the few business schools anywhere in the world to be accredited by the major awarding bodies AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB). Affiliated to the University of Reading, it is the third-largest provider of MBA education in the world. The FT 2014 ranking of the world’s best business schools places it at number 35 in the world, number 19 in Europe and number 5 in the UK.

Training for entrepreneurship

If you are thinking of starting your own business in Britain, would an education at Henley Business School equip you to make a success of your business? The 12 month full-time MBA course aims to convert you into a business leader and professional with all-round experience in every aspect of business management.

It offers a MSc Entrepreneurship and Management and the Masters program is designed to help you understand what is involved in entrepreneurship and management and equip you to function as a future entrepreneur or as a manager within entrepreneurial businesses. You will also be taught how to respond to change and to link up different areas in entrepreneurship and management. Teaching methods include case studies, simulations and projects using the latest theory and research from leading Henley institutions such as the Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Centre for Sustainable Enterprise. The duration of the course is 12 months full-time starting October every year.

The course modules include subjects such as marketing management, decision making and strategic business analysis. Entry requirements are normally a 2:1 honours degree in any discipline from a UK university or an equivalent qualification from a similar non-UK institution. Non-graduates with extensive experience or other appropriate qualifications will also be considered for admission.

A Masters degree in Entrepreneurship and Financing

is also available because the school recognizes the importance of encouraging would-be entrepreneurs to be familiar with the complete range of non-traditional financing. As global markets get to be more competitive, organisations which depend entirely on traditional financing such as loans or the reinvestment of profits will not grow as fast as they should. The course will enable you to apply techniques and knowledge to often complex issues and provide you with the essential tools for financial understanding and management. The program is particularly appropriate for applicants working in family businesses. It is also suitable for applicants with no specialist knowledge or experience of finance in entrepreneurial situations.

University of Reading and Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa

If you would like to become an entrepreneur and want to continue living in the UK to pursue your business objectives and you are not from the EEA and Switzerland, you will require a visa for which an endorsement can be provided by the University of Reading. The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa will allow you to extend your stay in the UK for this purpose. For the fiscal year ended April 5, 2015, the university can provide up to 20 endorsements to graduates who have been awarded a degree by the University in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of the endorsement.
